October 8, 2008, A major chunk of ice ripped through a home in York Township, Pa. The ice broke into 3 pieces. The home owner says the found pieces weighed over 6 pounds.

The FFA was called but as always, no comments from them.

Yesterday a bowling ball sized chunk of ice crashed into a southern California home hitting a young boy on the head. There is no real hard evidence whether it came from an aircraft or not, but the FFA is looking into it as always.

Falling ice hits Dubuque, Iowa, one weighing 50 pounds! Dubuque had clear skies at the time. Several other small megacryometeors hit nearby. No one was reported hurt.

The recent trend seems to indicate megacryometeors hit in mid winter and mid summer.

Falling Ice victim says Ice was not blue.

I corresponded with Nina Gambone recently and she stated even though she says the FAA claimed the ice was in fact from a passing airplane, it was not blue in color as most ice from plane lavatories tend to be.

In this case, I have not been able to find where the FAA has admitted to the ice being from a plane.

This incident occured on January 17, 2007. This home, similar to the Pennsylvania episode on January 20th, was in the direct path of an airport. I keep waiting to hear a follow-up report after lab analysis proves they are from airplanes, but we never do. Neither one of these two were blue in color.

In a N.Y. Times article speculating on the possibility that a meteor shower caused this incident, Gareth Williams, an astronomer at the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, based in Cambridge, Mass. said “In a good year, there are 100 meteors an hour.”

It seemed like a solid clue, at least until Mr. Williams added, “I am unaware of any case where a meteorite is proven to have fallen as a result of a meteor shower.”

Many meteorites fall to earth every day, Mr. Williams said, most of them into the sea or the vast unpopulated parts of the earth. Once or twice a year, they hit a house or a car, he added.

If there are 100 meteors hitting the earth every hour and only one or two of these actually hit a house or car, makes you wonder how many megacryometeors are hitting the earth everyday if three have hit homes and cars within two weeks and several more doing similar damage in greater numbers in 2006!

A megacryometeor that fell from a southwestern sky burrowed itself two and a half feet into the ground in an Oakland park. One theory is that the megacryometeor fell from space. However, Ryan Diduck at the Chabot Space and Science Center, says this is unlikely because of the shockwaves that it would encounter. I'm guessing this means that it has a very small chance of making it to earth without disintegrating. An aviation consultant in the San Francisco area stated the only way this megracryometeor came from an aircraft is if a freshwater valve leaked at a high altitude, which does occationally happen. It could be determined to come from an aircraft if the megacryometeor contained chlorine. But I wonder why no one from the science community has contacted the witness who took a piece of the megacryometeor and put it in his freezer. I think I'll try to get a hold of him...
